The "Montfort Kammerorchester"  was founded in 2015 by internationally known cellist  Alexandr Karakhanyan, who is currently based in Feldkirch, Austria. The idea of the foundation of this chamber orchestra was to support talented young musicians in this area. The "Montfort Kammerorchester" is the only one of its kind in Feldkirch, that provides young musicians with the opportunity to perform the great repertoire of a chamber orchestra at a high level. Thus, the Orchestra makes an important contribution to further development of the respective cultural segment in the Vorarlberg area of Austria.

Since 2018, Gayane Mirzoyan has been the Project Manager of the ''Montfort Kammerorchester''.

Music connects!

Cross-border cultural exchange is especially important to us. Most oft the members of this chamber orchestra are musicians from different countries (Armenia, Austria, Japan, Colombia, Poland, Ukraine, Spain, South Africa and Switzerland), who have studied or are studying at Vorarlberg State Conservatory. The Orchestra's repertoire is also internationally oriented, that is, it includes the works of various composers, including the works of Austrian, German, Italian, Swiss, Slavic and Armenian composers. Another idea is to provide contemporary Austrian composers with the unique opportunity to perform their own compositions for the chamber Orchestra.

Currently, cellist Alexandr Karakhanyan is the Artistic Director of the "Montfort Kammerorchester".

Violist and musicologist Gayane Mirzoyan (MMA, PhD) is the Project Manager of  the  "Montfort Kammeorchester".
